From shocking opening song to dramatic last song, contrast of intense and clam is excellent. Completion level of each song and composition of album are perfect.

Various version of this album are also available: 2CD, 1CD+DVD-audio, and 5CDs+DVD-audio. DVD-audio includes 5.1 surround.
DVD-audio includes DTS 5.1ch surround which is playable on DVD video player. However, I recommend to get DVD-audio player to be satisfied with hi-resolution sound.

Epitaph (1997)

Live recording by original member in 1969.

Sound of some songs are not clear, and some songs contain noise. But, you can feel enthusiasm of members with powerful drumming of Giles and free improvisation of Fripp and McDonald. Especially, beautiful voice of Lake is impressive.

Although this album is not for beginner of KC, you should listen after you became maniac of KC.

Image of song and composition of album is resemble to first album, contrast of intense and clam is impressive. However, melody of songs are not good.

In the later half of the album, long suite Devil's Triangle in the motif of classical music Jupiter is included.

Lizard (1970)

Featuring wind instruments such as saxophone and oboe. Sound is crowded and voice of Gordon Haskell is not good. Lack of impact. I didn't like this album during I listened it in 2ch.

However, 5.1 surround included in DVD-audio is superior. Sound of wind instruments is vivid and powerful. Impression is quite different from 2ch. This album must be listen in 5.1ch.
DVD-audio includes DTS 5.1ch surround which is playable on DVD video player. However, I recommend to get DVD-audio player to be satisfied with hi-resolution sound.

Islands (1971)

Most songs are quiet and calm. Islands featuring wind instruments is very beautiful. Good for healing music.

Live recording by member who recorded Islands. Sound quality is quite low, because this album was recorded by cassette tape recorder set in audience seat.

Ladies of the road (2002)

Live recording of early 1970's KC (2CD). First CD includes songs from Lizard and Islands.

Second one is combination of guitar and saxophone solo of 21st century schizoid man from 11 different live performance. If you are fanatic of the song, you can enjoy happy 46 minutes. For maniac fan of KC.

John Wetton, Bill Bruford, and David Cross joined the band. Sound is drastically changed. Featuring aggressive guitar and violin. Voice of John Wetton is quite good.

Contrast of intense and clam is superb.

Live recording at Holland in November 1973. Trio, Starless and bible black, Fracture and introduction of Night watch were used for Album "Starless and Bible Black".

Song selection and performance are perfect.

Like former album, heavy guitar is featured. Anterior half of the album includes song with vocal. Voice of Wetton is excellent. Later half includes long improvisation.

Those who love guitar sound may satisfy Fracture.

Masterpiece which closed 1970's King Crimson. I am overwhelmed by heavy sound of Red. In the last song Starless, I am fascinated by voice of Wetton and performance of guitar and saxophone.

Discipline (1981)

Rebirth of KC featuring new guitarist and vocalist Adrian Belew. Thick, heavy and symphonic sound which representative 1970's KC vanished.

Not ordinary rock, it can be called progressive. Very interesting album, but not recommend to beginner of KC.

Charm and enthusiasm of songs are quite difference from studio album. Although I don't like studio albums of 1980's KC, I like this live album.

However, this album is not for beginner of KC. Please listen 1970's KC.

Mini album which released as showcase of Thrak. It includes 5 songs. Tempo of Vroom in this album is faster than the one included in Thrak. I like this version.

Live recording of concert at Argentina held in interval between recording of Vrooom and Thrak.

Rough, powerful performance with enthusiasm is recorded. Songs of 1980's KC are reborn with arrengement for double trio.

Re-rebirth of KC with 4 person. This album includes prog heavy metal songs. Good for guitar fan. But it is noisy for me.

Album starts with a cappella using modulated voice. Following Level Five is heavy and hard instrumental like 1970's KC. Third song is beautiful ballade. Contrast of heavyness and calm is excellent.

I recommend this album after you listened 1970's KC.
